New Edge-lit LED technology… be a part of it
For more than 30 years Fern-Howard has continually progressed in the manufacture and supply of high quality, energy efficient lighting to the commercial lighting sector. We are now undertaking a massive leap forward with advanced Edge-lit LED technology. It is for this reason that we are significantly strengthening our management team and wish to appoint the following positions to help achieve our growth plans. Detailed descriptions on these positions can be found at www.fernhoward.com/about-us/career-opportunities/
OEM Business Development Manager
The ideal candidate will have a strong business development background demonstrated by a successful track record in sales. You will also have a good technical background including knowledge of electrical engineering and lighting principles. An excellent communicator with the skill to establish and deepen relationships is critical to this role, as is the ability to produce sales growth in the UK and throughout Europe.
Required to lead the introduction, development and technical support of commercially viable new lighting products. You will be from an electronics background and have experience in lighting component specifications and system controls. A knowledge of lighting and building standards, exemplified by relevant experience or a lighting design qualification is central to the role. You will take electronic products from the drawing board to post production and manage the team to deliver new products in a volume manufacturing environment, against challenging timescales.
As the company grows it is vital to keep pace with technology and the role of a new IT Manager is seen as pivotal to support this. The successful candidate will have experience in SQL data base principles and structure, with a strong ability to establish data profiles, maintain records, and generate reports. You will also need to provide hardware and software maintenance for the whole network on site. This role will suit a self- motivated and logical IT specialist, who can help the company develop and manage all aspects of its IT infrastructure.
Moulding Project Manager
This position requires the successful candidate to manage a wide range of injection moulding projects from customer enquiry through to production implementation. Experience of customer account management is imperative as you will be the main point of contact for existing OEM customers, primarily for the sub-contracting moulding business. Principally you will be a self-motivated technical specialist with a strong desire to join an expanding, energetic technical team.
Lighting Design Engineer
An exciting opportunity to support the new Edge-lit LED technology that the business is launching. You will have experience of using 3D design software and knowledge of designing components for plastic injection moulding as well as optical and thermal principles. Clear communication and reporting are essential requirements for this role and the successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic and the ability to interpret design concepts and present potential issues concisely and accurately.
A technician is required to support the Lighting Design Engineer as Fern-Howard embarks on its most ambitious growth phase yet. The successful candidate will be required to regularly assess equipment in development including the use of EMC and thermal testing. You will need to have a reasonable level of technical understanding, as well as be able to present data clearly and accurately in report format. Most importantly you should be curious and inquisitive with a mind that naturally “sense checks” results and the information being generated. This is a great opportunity for someone embarking on their career!
